Pax·il"lus n.; pl. Paxilli (#). [L., a peg.] (Zo”l.) One of a peculiar kind of spines covering the surface of certain starfishes. They are pillarlike, with a flattened summit which is covered with minute spinules or granules. See Illustration in Appendix.
